The Skier’s Chalet Steakhouse is located along Aspen’s first ski run. It features a shallow pitched gable roof, deep overhanging eaves and balconies, decorative cutouts, and wood and stucco materials. Skier’s Chalet exemplifies the Chalet tradition and is one of a group of similar structures (Skier’s Chalet Lodge, Shadow Mountain Condominiums, the Holland House, Norway Lodge and the Mountain Chalet) that surrounded Aspen’s first chairlift. This is the style of architecture that many residents at the time felt was the appropriate imagery for the steadily growing ski resort.
