408 E Cooper
Aspen Sports (1970) at 408 E. Cooper, a yellow brick cube, has a dramatic oversized arched entrance on the ground floor that evokes the Midwestern banks of Louis Sullivan. This geometric building was designed by Sam Caudill, principal architect of Caudill Associates. The use of masonry (yellow brick in particular), arched openings, and glazing walls are indicative of organic architecture and modern technology found in Caudill’s work.
