514 E Hyman

Year:

1971 more 70s

Architect:

Robin Molny

Type:

commercial

514 E. Hyman was constructed in 1971. Molny used brick and glass as the primary building materials to express the flat roofed commercial building as a volumetric space with large geometric cutouts. The mitered corners and deep second story overhang are indicative of Molny’s Taliesin training and his constant exploration of building technology.

The building façade was significantly altered in the 1990s and is currently approved to completely restore Molny’s original façade.
