1295 Riverside
Rob Roy, one of Aspen’s first licensed architects, designed 1295 Riverside Dr. in the chalet style in 1960. Roy is associated with other chalet buildings in town. 1295 was designed as a private residence on the outskirts of town. Decorative eaves and shutters, and the use of wood siding and stucco are indicative of traditional European chalets that were emulated in Aspen when town was trying to establish itself as an international ski resort.
