A series of small cottages line the edge of the property located at 435 W. Main Street, within Aspen’s Main Street Historic District. Each cottage is a gable structure oriented with the ridge running north-south. The cottages represent the small lodge developments that started to spring up during Aspen’s quiet years, when tourism began to grow. The Rustic Style of the cottages was indicative of the very small amount of development during Aspen’s quiet years- very simple form, wood materials that were readily available and small chimneys to heat the one room cottages.
