The design of the Tyrolean Lodge drew from a number of architectural styles prevalent at the time of construction, including the use of balconies with decorative wood railings, simple building and roof forms of the classic Chalets, however the building is not as easily categorized into a particular local style as well as some others in town.  The building type, small lodge, is very important to the social history of Aspen as a ski resort.
