Built in 1961 and enlarged in 1963, the handsome wood structure is set deep into its site on the corner of Hyman and Aspen Streets and has two angled wings and a sheltering roof. Robin Molny’s training at Taliesin is evident in the siting of the lodge into the landscape and the use of natural materials – brick, glass and wood- on both the interior and exterior of the building.  A large fireplace is found on the second floor lounge with views of Aspen Mountain.  The building has an open floor plan and exterior courtyard to blur the line between interior and exterior living.
