In 1956, Fritz Benedict designed the Bank of Aspen (119 S. Mill Street), a one-story, flat-roofed structure of salvaged brick that evokes Wright’s influences in its rectilinear massing of the chimney, walls, and piers, horizontal emphasis, and the dramatic cantilevering of the roof over the adjacent sidewalk.
